Being Pregnant & Having a Baby During the COVID-19 Pandemic

For more than 30 years Health Nexus, a designated bilingual organization, has been working with diverse partners to help create healthy, equitable and vibrant communities where people of all ages can thrive. Their work is focused on healthy child development, community engagement, and partnership development. Meaningful change will only happen through the collaboration of multiple organizations across different sectors. The work they do breaks down silos and bridges across sectors.

In this video, the information facilitated by Hiltrud Dawson, is presented by a midwife, Susan Lorenz, and a certified lactation consultant and founder of Lactation Care, Sonya Boersma. Questions from parents are answered by the experts and a number of current online resources are shared. The COVID-19 pandemic raises many questions for expectant and new parents. Concerns and changes in practice regarding pregnancy, birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and skin-to-skin care are discussed.
